The final opportunity to attend the mandatory Diocesan Safe Environment
for Children Seminar will be offered on November 10th @ St. Theresa Hall @ 10am.
Parishioners whose ministry is exercised in the presence of youth are required to
attend the initial two hour training session and, after that, are required to attend a
one hour continuing education seminar every year.
Our St. Joseph’s Knights of Columbus will host their annual Tailgating Cook-Off on
this Sunday, October 21st, @ the Loreauville Park. We hope to see everyone there!
Raffle tickets are available from any St. Joseph Knights of Columbus member to win the Pro Drive 18 foot boat with 36 hp
motor & trailer. The drawing will be held at the Tailgating Cook-Off on this Sunday, October 21st.
Our adult religious education program, RCIA, will begin on Tuesday night, January 8th, from 7pm—8pm @ St. Theresa Hall.
Please call our Church office to register if you are interested in considering the possibility of becoming a Catholic or if you are
a baptized Catholic who would like to receive the Sacraments of First Communion and/or Confirmation. Deacon Chris Doumit
will teach six classes: (Jan. 8, Jan. 22, Feb. 5, Feb. 19, Mar. 4, and Mar. 18). These classes are also open to anyone who
would like to learn more about his/her Catholic faith.

Thanksgiving Day falls on November 22nd. Once again this year, we are
inviting all catechism children to bring non-perishable items to their catechism
classes each week so that we may assist the needy in our community with
food at Thanksgiving.
The Secular Carmelite Community of St. Joseph, Guardian of Carmel, invites everyone to join them on Saturday, October
27th, from 9am—10am @ the Carmelite Monastery in Lafayette for a presentation by Fr. Conley Bertrand entitled “Growing
In Prayer—From Meditation to Contemplation”.
Our Baptismal Seminar is held on the 2nd Monday of each month @ St. Theresa Hall. Parents & Godparents must attend this
class before the Baptism of their baby. The next class is Monday, November 12th, @ 7pm. Please call our Church Office to

Our St. Joseph’s Youth Group will host their annual Fall Carnival on next Sunday,
October 28th, from 2–5pm @ St. Theresa Hall. In an attempt to help the needy of
our community, the admission to the Carnival will consist of two canned goods, diapers,
toiletries or a monetary donation. There will be chili dogs, candied apples, popcorn balls,
pralines, cupcakes, and soft drinks. There will be games with prizes, cake walk, raffle, face
painting, and much more! All proceeds benefit the youth and the needy of our community.

We are in need of additional Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors to serve at 10am and 7pm Masses on Sundays. To serve in
these capacities, a parishioner must complete the Diocesan Safe Environment for Children program. If you are interested in

A Come and See Vocations Retreat for men high school age & older will be held @ St. Joseph Seminary College in Covington

October is Respect Life Month. Our St. Joseph’s Pro-Life Committee will be collecting disposable diapers to donate to the
Women's Center for crisis pregnancies. Please bring a pack of diapers to the rectory any time during the month of October.

All Saints Day is a Holy Day of Obligation and is celebrated on Thursday, November 1st. Anticipated Mass on Wednesday,
October 31st, is at 6:30pm. Masses on Thursday, November 1st, are at 6:30am and 6:30pm.
