Sunday this weekend. The theme of this year’s observance is “Encountering the Living Christ.”
The final opportunity to attend the mandatory Diocesan Safe Environment for Children Seminar will
be offered on November 10th @ St. Theresa Hall @ 10am. Parishioners whose ministry is exercised
in the presence of youth are required to attend the initial two hour training session and, after that,
are required to attend a one hour continuing education seminar every year.

Our Catholic Daughters will have a sweets sale on this Sunday (September 16th) from 7am—
12noon. Catholic Daughter members are asked to please volunteer to help out during this
fundraiser.
Our St. Joseph’s Knights of Columbus will also host their annual Tailgating

There will be a Blood Drive for parishioner Richard Guillotte (who is awaiting a liver transplant) on this

own!
I have some 35mm slides of the Holy Land that I would like to get scanned so that I could show
them to interested parishioners. Does anyone have a scanner that is able to scan 35mm slides that
could please help me out? Thanks!
Fr. Mario
A reminder to First Communion and Confirmation students that we will begin signing your Mass
Attendance cards this weekend. Thanks!
Our brand new mausoleum being built at All Saints Cemetery is nearing completion! All of the
marble sides have been installed and the roof is being completed. Weather permitting; it should be
completely finished in the next month or so. Merci Beaucoup!
Our Baptismal Seminar is held on the 2nd Monday of each month at the Our Lady
of Victory Life Center. Parents & Godparents must attend this class before the
Baptism of their baby. The next class is scheduled for Monday, October 8th, @

We are in need of additional Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors to serve at 10am and 7pm Masses on
Sundays. To serve in these capacities, a parishioner must complete the Diocesan Safe Environment
for Children program. If you are interested in serving Jesus in these ministries, please call our
Church office @ 229-4254.
A special rosary marking the 90th anniversary of the apparition of the Blessed
Mother at Fatima will be held on Saturday, October 13th, from 12noon—2pm
at the Iberia Parish Courthouse. For more information please call Linda Jumonville
@ 560-1508.
Our second collection next weekend will be the kickoff collection for the annual
Bishop’s Service Appeal. Thanks for your generosity in supporting the many
ministries of the Catholic Diocese of Lafayette!
Our mausoleum in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, behind the priest’s rectory, has just received a brand new
roof. Vaughn Roofing Company has done an excellent job and this new $29,000 roof should give
us decades of trouble-free service. Thanks for your generosity!
Fr. Mario
Our Church Parish has gotten the approval from Bishop Jarrell to proceed with our central air
conditioning & heating project at St. Theresa’s Hall. The equipment has been placed on order and
will arrive in about 8 weeks from the manufacturer. After the arrival of the equipment, an
electrician will re-wire our Hall and the air conditioning company will install the new equipment.
After this new equipment is installed, all of our classrooms will be centrally cooled & heated, which
will make it much easier on our catechism students and teachers! Hopefully, by the end of this
year, we should be completely finished with this project! Thanks for your generous support as we
continue to improve and maintain our facilities!

“With each contribution show a cheerful countenance, and pay your tithes in a spirit of joy.
Give to the Most High as He has given to you, generously, according to your means.
For the Lord is one who always repays, and He will give back to you seven-fold.”
