The Office of Vocations, along with the Community of Jesus Crucified, is sponsoring a Women’s Vocation
Retreat on August 3—5th. This is a silent retreat for women age 18 and older who are open to God’s

St. Martinville beginning Friday @ 7pm and concluding Sunday @ 3:30pm. This retreat is free of charge.
Interested women are asked to register through the Diocese of Lafayette Vocations Office (261-5690).
Our next Mandatory Diocesan Safe Environment for Children Continuing Education Seminars will be offered

the presence of youth are required to attend the initial two hour training session and, after that, are
required to attend a one hour continuing education seminar every
year.
Congratulations to St. Joseph parishioner Karen Boudreaux who
was named Postmaster of the Year for the State of Louisiana!
We are proud of you, Karen! Thanks for your great service to
our community!

Our St. Joseph’s Eucharistic Adoration Chapel is in need of prayer partners to spend
time with our Lord Jesus Christ. Call Karen Breaux (229-6440) or Brenda Berard
(229-4564) for more info.
The following graves in St. Joseph Cemetery have been declared unfit for human burial and are in need of
repair. If no legal claimant comes forward by August 1, 2007 with the intention to assume all responsibility
that ownership implies, St. Joseph Church will presume the spaces abandoned and will repair these sites
accordingly.
We are in need of additional Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors to serve at 10am and 7pm Masses on
Sundays. To serve in these capacities, a parishioner must complete the Diocesan Safe Environment for
Children program. If you are interested in serving Jesus in these ministries, please call our Church office
@ 229-4254.
Thanks to your increased generosity, we have accumulated about $80,000 in our savings account. The first
priority that our Parish Council has is to re-wire and install new central ac/heat in our Church Hall (including
the classrooms that our children use for catechism classes). The most recent estimates that we have
gotten for materials and labor for this project is about $150,000 (of course, if asbestos is found or other
issues are discovered, the costs could go higher than that). Hopefully, we’ll have this project completed
before the end of the year.
